Service Plus is following a simplified development process, defined by Siemens.
Basically there are four phases, which are:
Each phase ends with a well-defined milestone with a complete set of documents attached to it.
The Octopus success story continues. One of the leading Croatian retail chains decided to use Octopus for the synchronization and communication of their POS application with their checkout Magellan Barcode Scanner from Datalogic with integrated Bizerba scales. Tis enables Boso to automate the process of weight item handling at the checkout. Besides the process automation the implementation has a huge impact on the reduction of fraud and increases the shopping convenience for the customers at same time. An additional advantage for the retailer is the reduction of human resources in the fruit and vegetable sales area.
It is obvious that the retail IT environment is very complex; there are many business processes which need different technologies and solutions and have to interact with each other in order to create real business benefits. In this environment the integration is a crucial task for the success of the business. Typically the “big integration” is the focus of the project – meaning the integration of extensive solutions like POS with ERP or other head office and store solutions. But addressing details in the store environment the integration of simple pieces of hardware automates processes and has big advantages for the retailer. This is confirmed by the latest projects Service Plus executed (as described above).
Another success for the use of Octopus is its installation at the big german retailer Deichmann. Deichmann is a family-owned company since 1913 and will continue to remain independent. Its nearly 100-year business history began in Essen at the Ruhr river area. This is still the headquarter for the group of companies. Deichmann SE is currently active in 20 countries with 3,000 local shops and employs approximately 30,000 people. In 2010 the group sold 152 million pair of shoes worldwide.
Service Plus is proud to announce that we won a new customer for the Octopus solution.
The Croatian governmental institution for environment protection and energy efficiency (Fond za zastitu okolisa I energetsku ucinkovitost) decided to implement Octopus in all their collecting points where empties are returned.
